چکیده

In the framework of H2020 Cleansky2 project ROSSINI an industrial centrifugal compressor stage including vaneless diffuser and a non-symmetric volute is investigated with regard to development flow instabilities rotating stall.Due complex path geometry sophisticated instrumentation concept was developed allowing for combined high resolution field unsteady pressure investigation. This paper aimed at summarizing challenges steps taken during rig design in terms integrating non-intrusive, measurement sensors access optical techniques such as time-resolved PIV L2F investigate phenomena stall inception occurring part speed operation. Results performance measurements surge testing will be presented compared CFD simulations numerical twin stage.A deeper understanding that might precurser would help predict unstable operation already phase, today commonly supported by analysis providing data information early process.

Numerical Investigation of Rotating-Stall in a Stage of an Axial Compressor with Two Different Approaches

An unsteady two-dimensional finite-volume solver was developed based on Van Leer’s flux splitting algorithm in conjunction with “Monotonic Upstream Scheme for Conservation Laws (MUSCL)” limiters and the two-layer Baldwin-Lomax turbulence model was also implemented. To validate the solver, two test cases were prepared and the computed results had good agreements with reference data. The rotating...
